Patronus: An Ox Personality (include several weaknesses and strengths): Andromeda is more like her sisters than she is willing to admit. Her temper can be just as vicious as Bella’s, however she keeps a tight check on it. Over all she is calm, calculating, and rather cold to people she does not know. Unless she has a vested interest in you she sees no reason to be nice. However when it comes to Ted and Dora she is every bit as loving as she can be. They mean the world to her. She has a tendency to keep problems away for as long as possible. All of her smarts and cunning are used for the most part to keep bad things from happening to her. However when she is forced to face the bad she keeps a calm face on and makes sure everyone is taken care of, not giving herself a chance to let it affect her until after it is all over. She’s strong willed and stubborn and always feels that she knows what’s for the best. It takes quite a bit to earn her respect and very few people do. With both wars having taken quite a bit from her, she is naturally suspicious of both sides. While she is willing to occasionally help the Order, for the sake of her daughter, she does not think too highly of many of them. She is cautious of who she lets close to them in any sort of way and is much less welcoming than her husband or daughter. Herself not an extremely friendly person, she did not have many to begin with. Appearance (paragraph minimum.): Andromeda looks like her family. She is Black in her features. While softer in the face than her sister Bellatrix, she still looks distinctly like her most of all, with dark hair and grey eyes. She has ages gracefully for the most part, and stands at 5’10”. Her weight is not discussed, as it is not very ladylike. Even in hiding, she dresses in a smart manner, not to be seen in a state that is unpresentable. Naturally quieter than her older sister, Andromeda spent much of her younger childhood falling into step behind her. Bella was stronger, louder, older, it all just felt natural to Andromeda to want to be like her. In fact when Andromeda was left at home with just Narcissa when Bella left for Hogwarts she hardly knew what to do. Given Bella’s normal bossy and overbearing behavior she took over what she felt was the older sister. However she grew bored with that job rather quickly, having never really been as close with Narcissa as she had with Bella. However when Bella came home from Hogwarts she did not seem as interested with Andromeda as she had before. She was full of ideas and could not be bothered with a younger sister who simply ‘did not know’. Of course se had no idea what her older sister was going on about. She was just as pure as her and knew rightly that you were not supposed to associate with people below them. However Bella did come back with stories. Stories about how horrible all the half bloods and mudbloods were at Hogwarts. She imagined it must have been absolutely dreadful for her older sister and paid her proper sympathy. Not that she could imagine just why they were so horrible, but Bella said they were and Ande had near blind faith in her older sister. That all changed when Ande herself went to Hogwarts. She was naturally sorted into Slytherin, as any true Black should, though the hat had a hard time choosing between that house and Ravenclaw. Looking from under the hat at all the other students gathered, she was struck with not being able to tell just who was a pureblood. Bella had said that it would be simple, that lesser folk stuck out like sore thumbs, but that did not seem to be the case. As her education continued Andromeda’s faith in her sister began to disappear progressively. She watched Bella’s crowd and most of her other house mates. They were repulsive, lacking manners and general sense. By her second year she took to the library for most of her free time. There were a few people in her house that she found tolerable, but not many. With as much time as she spent in the library Ande became friends with a number of Ravenclaws her year and above. She fit in well with their group and they took better notes than her classmates. Plus on more than one occasion she had easily gotten them to do her homework for her. Most of them were purebloods, but quite a few in her little group were halfbloods. While she still avoided muggleborns if she could help it, but she actually became rather close with more than one of the halfbloods. In fact her younger cousin, Sirius Black, would be taking up being friends with half bloods after her, however he was much more public about his choice. Not wanting to really cause a huge rift in her family just yet Andromeda tried to keep this quiet. However Bella soon caught word just who she was spending time with and the rift started inevitably. It was through one of them, a girl in her year named Cleo Davenport, that she met Ted Tonks in her sixth year. Of course she had already known about him, he was a rather loud person and just about everyone knew the friendly boy. At first it did not seem like much of anything would happen between them. Andromeda found him noisy and nosy, and given she really did prefer to keep to herself that did not bode well with her. Yet he kept showing up where ever she went and by the end of sixth year the two had started a relationship. At the time she was desperate to keep it from her parents. Not only was she talking with half bloods but dating a mudblood? Her parents would never stand for it! It all came to a head just a few months after graduation. Andromeda had not stopped seeing Ted, though her parents were not aware of that fact. She discovered that she had become pregnant and instead of doing something such as getting rid of the child, her and Ted decided to elope. This sudden change in their daughter's status caused her parents to disown her within moments of hearing the news. But at that point Andromeda no longer cared. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl who they called Nymphadora whose hair began changing color the day she was born. She knew she was disowned from her family but still kept in touch with Sirius. Her younger cousin was quite the riot and she hoped the Blacks would not smother him. Now life looked like it would be all smooth sailing but Andromeda was more practical than that. She managed to get hired with a small business that worked to put wards up around businesses and homes. Having always been strong at Charms and Defense the work suited her. Ted got a job as well and they settled down to raise their daughter. The war was heating up and Andromeda would be damned if she left that split apart what she had put together. She clung to neutrality as best she could. The order approached her and she declined, however Ted and her agreed to let them use their home as a safe house should there be a need. Nymphadora was too precious to her for her to risk too much involvement. Bella was probably already after her and Ted’s blood as it was. When the first war ended suddenly, Andromeda found herself settling into a much quieter existence. Warding was doing well thanks to the war and the remaining paranoia from it, and her relatives were not in positions where they could hurt her small family. Dora grew up in relative safety, outside of the danger she put herself in, and Andromeda was happy. Everything seemed to be going so well that it was almost like a dream that the first war had even happened sometimes. The only thing that bothered her had been her cousin Sirius’ betrayal at the end of the war. But she did not have room in her life for making a fuss. When the second war broke out, it was like a nightmare returning. Andromeda would have refused entirely to help the Order, again, if it had not been for the insistence of her husband and daughter. As she suspected, it did them little good and when things started looking their worst, Ande managed to convince her husband to relocate. They would certainly not be safe given her relatives in a world run by Death Eaters. She tried to get her daughter to come with her, but instead ended up with a new son in law, someone she was rather familiar with and who Andromeda looks down on as being old enough to have fathered Dora. Which he was, in fact he was one of the first people to know after she had been born, through a letter she sent to Sirius. Many people relocated to France when the take over was nearly complete. Andromeda felt it would be safer to set up a small home in Northern France. At the moment outside of herself and Ted only Dora and a few select others know where the small cottage is. And Andromeda is set on keeping it that way. However, with how things are going, she is not sure on how long her safe house is going to remain so. Especially if it comes to others needing to be harbored there, she is fairly certain that she would not be able to say no to someone wounded. At the moment she is content in her small cottage with her husband. They make a small living, but had enough of a savings kept up from before the second war to be at least stable. She still does odd warding for money, but keeps a very low profile. Neither of them wants something to happen to the other, and their daughter has already thrown herself in the middle of the fray. | |||||||||
